Olaf Traap - Bioenergetic Therapist, since 1995 ,a member of the board of directors at the North German Institute for Bioenergetic Analysis NIBA , since 2007 training analyst (licensed to be therapist for Bioenergetic trainees),Member of a professional body psychotherapy advanced training and supervision group with Dorothea Habbinga, psychologist. In the Bioenergetic centre of Body Work in Poland he leads workshops, and also will be a therapist for Bioenergetic trainees. He was born in 06.06.1959, Berlin, Germany, loving relationship and 14 year daughter.

Education and Career progression
After the Abitur , started to study Pedagogics and Sport at the PH in Berlin. After that he went to on a 14 month travel through Asia and Australia, studied Chinese medicine and oriental philosophy, developed the desire to work therapeutic, to touch people and to use his sensitive hands for this purpose. First became a Massage Therapist interested in the physical context of the human body. The appreciation about the interaction of body, spirit and soul summarized during his work with patients in a psychiatric clinic, at the Niedersächsischen Landeskrankenhaus Göttingen, as holistic body - mind worker. In 1986 he learned the method "Jin Shin Do - Acupressure". The effect (release) was fascinating and deeply impressive for him.It started a continuous process of his personal and professional development. After the "intensive teacher training" 1994 in the USA he got the license to teach JSD from Iona Teeguarden, the founder of JSD.

Bioenergetic Background
His first touch with Bioenergetics was 1988 at a 5 day Mallorca workshop with Heiner Steckel. He took part at several workshops until he started individual therapy in 1992. The therapeutic process inspired him to go further and further. Within 12 years of individual therapy in B.A. he had 4 therapists. He also worked with Dr. Alexander Lowen in the USA. He is a living example for the effectiveness of Bioenergetic Analysis:
- He has a wonderful loving relationship,
- He overcame terrible and painful back problems, so that he's still able to play team handball,
- The way to make his money is fulfilling and satisfying. And it is good for humanity overall.

Bioenergetic Training
An even deeper understanding of the body- soul connection enabled him the psychotherapeutic training program in Bioenergetic Analysis, which he did from 1994-1999 at the NIBA. (North German Institute Of Bioenergetic Analysis). Until now feels strongly connected to Bioenergetics and the NIBA. Since the end of the training program he is a member of a professional further education and supervision group, since 2007 he is allowed to do therapy with trainees, since 2008 he is a member of the NIBA board. In the NIBA board one of his tasks is to visit the yearly European meeting of the Bioenergetic institutes, he likes to network and connect with others.

Professional therapeutic focus:
Since 1992 he started to work with private clients. He lives and works today in Eschwege Germany. Beside "Balance" he runs a small private Praxis for Jin Shin Do Akupressure. In therapy his focus is early diseases, shock, trauma, psychosomatics and also very important to contact appropriately to the client. The personal strength of his work is:
- The work with early injured clients, which needs a lot of holding bodily contact for their own growing process,
- To explore together with the client the emotional background of physical diseases,
- Problems with partnership and sexuality.
